Xavier Bertrand advocates for a “Federal France”

On the sidelines of the Aix-en-Provence Economic Forum, the president of the Hauts-de-France region shared his vision of a disrupted political model, advocating a complete overhaul: the “Republic of Territories,” or what Jean-Louis Borloo calls a “federal France.” The central government must focus—and excel—on its core responsibilities: justice, security, immigration control, defense, and diplomacy. For everything else, the management of daily life should be local.
