 “Federalism is the only answer,” insists Yannig Derrien. He cites an Ifop/Regions and Peoples in Solidarity poll (August 2024) which reveals that 78% of Bretons support it, compared to 71% nationally. This is the fight now being waged by Lydie Massard, former UDB Member of the European Parliament, who has announced her candidacy for a potential left-wing primary in the 2027 presidential election to champion these ideas of federalism, social justice, and environmentalism.
