Solution 1: a non-sovereign Caledonian federated state with France

Hello everyone,

The APROFED association is returning to you this week to share with you one of its two solutions to the current conflict the country is experiencing, notably through an agreement which would consist, on the basis of the Noumea agreement, of moving towards greater autonomy with the creation of a Caledonian federated state, potentially in partnership with France.

To summarize, our project for a Caledonian federated state would aim to:

– allow a stay with France for a fixed period, satisfying the pro-French,

– propose a transition period of 30 years, with the development of a new status, to be discussed as mentioned by the president of the UC, in an article in Nouvelle Calédonie la 1ère dated June 9, 2024 (cf.  “Our sovereignty can only be immediate, full and complete and non-negotiable”, says Daniel Goa at the opening of the CODIR of the Caledonian Union – Nouvelle-Calédonie la 1ère (francetvinfo.fr) ,

– allow the creation of a non-sovereign State with legislative and administrative authorities that are nevertheless independent, with a view to taking a step towards independence,

– recover the judiciary and public security, given the current failures,

– not to recover sovereign powers (army, diplomacy, currency), leaving them to the French State, like a protectorate, which is what New Caledonia should have been since 1853,

– establish full independence no later than September 24, 2053, the bicentenary of France taking possession of New Caledonia.

We wish you a good read and remind you that federalism is the only solution to the current Caledonian problem.
