Independence movements also on mainland France
Hello everyone,
The APROFED association is getting back to you this week following an article in Le Figaro published in 2017 entitled: These small movements which defend the independence of historic regions (see These small movements which defend the independence of historic regions )
Because if the overseas territories have been able to make a name for themselves recently by acting on the creation of an international decolonization front (FID) (cf. Corsica, New Caledonia, Caribbean: the independentists act on the creation of a Decolonization Front ), it should be remembered that several movements within France itself are also considered to be pro-independence (cf. Independence movements in France – Wikipedia ), although on closer inspection these turn out to be in reality more autonomist, regionalist and federalist like us than truly secessionist.
Below are some examples of sites of these movements:
Regions and Peoples in Solidarity
Union of the People of Franche-Comté | Arc-et-Senans | Facebook
Franche-Comté Movement | Besançon | Facebook
Sabaudia – Savoie Region Movement | Facebook
Declared independent by a State that equates autonomy with separatism , these various movements in reality have only one wish for a sharing of power . The central and Jacobin State concentrates on its so-called sovereign powers (currency, defense, foreign affairs, etc.), the rest being the responsibility of local authorities such as regions and municipalities. The government and parliament play, if necessary, the role of coordinator, facilitator and regulator between these authorities themselves and between them and the European authorities, as is currently the case in Germany.
By defending French particularism, the nation-state, and hyper-centralization, French leaders have only caused, over the years, an increase in tensions and a rise in extremism, self-reinforcing a vicious circle.
In order not to end up in the situation of Portugal (Carnation Revolution) that many predict for France in the near future, it is time, as mentioned in one of our previous articles, to move towards a 6th republic with a federal regime . The country having already tried during these first 5 republics the regimes: presidential, semi-presidential and parliamentary.
In view of the current inglorious situation linked to the institutional blockage, the association urges the President of the Republic to convene a Constituent Assembly so that Parliament can study this solution of a 6th federal republic by the end of its mandate. This will thus allow it to emerge from the current situation with a positive outcome.
Otherwise, it would be appropriate to remind him and his loved ones that once presidential immunity is lifted, it is highly likely that a large number of people will “come looking for him” to take him to court or even behind bars like former President Sarkozy, given his catastrophic record:
– on the financial level: an abysmal debt of more than 3,000 billion euros, forcing France to borrow, in anticipation of 2026, 310 billion euros on the markets!!,
– at the internal security level: between 30 and 40 billion euros to cover the damage linked to the various insurrections (overseas, suburbs, agricultural, poor, etc.), and between 150,000 and 200,000 deaths in peacetime following Covid, if not more,
– at the military level: the delivery of weapons to countries like Russia and Israel then engaged in decried conflicts,
– at the judicial level: the arrest, imprisonment and deportation to mainland France of overseas opponents, recalling the lettres de cachet and the period of the old regime,
– etc.
It is time, as some are demanding, for the Macronist page to turn and with it the republican monarchy to make way for a federal republic.
We wish you a good read and remind you that federalism is the only solution to reconcile unity in diversity.
